Siam Cement Group releases results for Philippine operations

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group has reported a 39 per cent YoY decline in revenue to PHP5.34bn (US$109.7m) from its Philippine operations for the first half of the year, on the back of a weak performance in its building materials business, reports The Philippine Star. SCG sees dip in Vietnam's revenue from sales

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) has seen its revenue from sales in Vietnam drop five per cent YoY to VND13.1trn (US$564.6m) in the first half of 2020, according to Vietnam News. The figure accounted for 8.8 per cent of SCG’s total revenue during the six-month period. In the 2Q20, its revenue from sales in the country reached VND7trn, equivalent to 40 per cent of the total revenue from ASEAN markets, excluding Thailand, compared to 30 per cent in 2019.

SCG reports falling revenue in Vietnam

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) has seen a seven per cent YoY drop in its revenue from sales in Vietnam to VND7.9trn (US$339m) in the 2Q19, according to Vietnam News. Revenue from sales in Vietnam finished at VND14.6trn in the 1H19, consistent with the year-ago period, and accounted for nine per cent of the group’s total revenue. Currently, the company’s assets in Vietnam are valued at VND55.75trn.

SCG Cement signs deal for more solar power

Thailand’s SCG Cement has signed a memorandum of understanding with Constant Energy for the deployment of 50MW of solar plants, according to PV Tech. SCG Cambodia, a subsidiary of the Siam Cement Group, yesterday announced that revenue from sales in 2018 grew by 15 per cent, rising to US$396m. Revenue from sales in 4Q18 reached US$96m, SCG Cambodia said. SCG Cement sees 8% rise YoY from sales in Vietnam

SCG Cement’s revenue from sales in Vietnam has seen an eight per cent rise YoY to VND6.88tn (US$309m) for 3Q17. The company’s revenue from selling high-valued products reached VND87.13tn for 9M17, which is a rise of seven per cent YoY and represents 39 per cent of the group's total revenues. In addition, the company invested VND1.6tn in research and development activities in the first nine months of 2017, according to Roongrote Rangsiyopash, the company's president and CEO.

SCG establishes joint venture logistics company in Indonesia

SCG Cement - Building Materials Company (SCG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siam Cement Co (SCC) and PT Barito Investa Prima, have agreed to establish PT SCG Barito Logistics in Indonesia. The investment has an enterprise value of approximately THB162m (US$4.8m), whereby SCC will hold an indirect stake of 49 per cent through SCG, PT Barito Investa Prima will hold the remainder.
